Internal Communications
The right words at the right time can shift mindsets. Internal and cultural communication focuses on creating change within an organization, establishing mindset shifts and inspiring new ways of working and interacting with each other. These projects represent a handful of different mediums that I've used as tools to create change and better align culture and purpose.
How We Work at Marvin
The pandemic forced many companies to shift to new ways of working, overnight. In 2021, as a few weeks turned into years, we had to decide how to approach a “return to office.” I led a group on a human-centered design exploration, taking inspiration from employee interviews and insights work. I pushed for a future where managers and employees decide what’s best for them, allowing lives and work to co-exist (at a company where work from home was previously non-existent). I wrote and designed this storytelling document and our “Flex Work Commitments” to engage and inspire our teams.

Better Living at Marvin
In 2017, I helped Marvin use a human-centered design process to establish our company purpose: Imagine and Create Better Ways of Living. In 2021, I led work to further define how this purpose comes to life for our employees. The resulting framework, called “Better Living at Marvin” addresses 5 key areas of employee well-being that is informing how we design programs, policies and experiences. As the primary storyteller for CEO communications, I scripted and directed the video content below that introduces this framework to our employee base, and created a deck we used to introduce the framework to our leadership groups.
Well-Being Your Way Reimbursement Program
Marvin had a wellness reimbursement program, but it was overly restrictive in nature and built to benefit the company, not our employees. I led a team in reimagining what a people-first program could look like, if an employee could define what supports their well-being and get paid back for it, no questions asked. We designed a seamless and easy process, and I led strategy, copywriting and visual direction for the program launch.
